God Created Light Twice Explained

If you have read God’s creation of the world in the Book of Genesis then you may have noticed that God had created “light” twice. He created the first light on the first day of His creation then He created the other on the fourth day.

Genesis 1:1-5.

Clearly stated here in Genesis 1:1-5, God had already created light during the very first day of His creation. God had even named this light as the “Day” while the darkness as the “Night”.

Let’s also read Genesis 1:14-19 which described God’s second creation of light.

So for the second time, God had created light on the fourth day. However, the written Scripture has provided a detailed information about these forms of lights where they have sources. They are actually being generated by the sun, moon, and the stars. On the other hand, the light that God created during the first day had an unknown source which we are about to explain.

You have to know that the light that God had created during the first day of His creation declares His presence as the Creator of the entire world. This is because, “God is Light” which we can read on 1 John 1:5.

This Scripture explains the main reason why the light that God created during the first day and brought light to the world for three days does not have any sun, moon, and stars. Just like what the Scriptures’ description about God in 1 John 1:5, God is light where His light brought brightness to the world for the first three days of His creation.

We can read another Scripture in the Book of Revelation 22:5 about God’s light.

This yet to be fulfilled Prophecy from the Book of Revelation has revealed that God will soon bring light into this world where other sources of lights such as the sun are no longer needed.

But when talking about light in the Holy Bible, the most important Scripture pertaining about light is the one written on John 8:12.

In this generation of ours, Lord Jesus Christ is our only Saviour who can guide us towards the “light from God” which is the only way for us to gain eternal life. But for those who don’t then they will unfortunately get lost and doomed in the outer darkness. We can read about this in the Book of Matthew 8:12.

Gap Theory between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2

In my further research about God's creation of the world in the Book of Genesis, I came across this interesting theory known as the “Gap Theory”.

The main reason why it is called the Gap Theory is that this theory suggests that a catastrophic event occurred during the time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.

There is a huge question among various scholars about why the earth was described as “formless and desolate” in Genesis 1:2. So they came up with a theory that there was probably a “fully functional earth” that was filled with all living creatures which includes those extinct dinosaurs.

However, this earth was unfortunately destroyed due to Satan who was one among the “fallen angels” who rebelled against God. When God casted him out from Heaven, Satan fell down into the earth which caused such tremendous impact that it completely devastated it. As a result, earth became “formless and desolate”.

Since earth got destroyed, God had to restart and create again everything starting from the ruined earth.

Some Flaws of the Gap Theory

In my own personal opinion, this Gap Theory did not really happen since there is really not enough evidence to support the catastrophic event. If it did then it would have been recorded as well in the Book of Genesis rather than leaving us all trying to speculate and come up with ignorant hypotheses.

Another flaw that I saw on my own personal perspective is the “light”. God had not created light yet until Genesis 1:3. You have to know that light is very important for the survival of all living creatures here on earth. Without it, it would be impossible for them to live and thrive unless Satan destroyed it as well when he got casted out.

Perhaps the real question here is, “Why was the earth from the very beginning of God’s creation of the world referred to in the Holy Scripture as “formless and desolate”?

Again, the answer to this question is based on my own personal opinion only. If God Who is our Almighty Creator wanted to create earth in an instant, then He can do so by simply giving His powerful command. As a result, everything is going to be completed just on the first day.

However, there is a reason why God had to do it in a step-by-step manner. God probably designed everything here on earth to be formed or created in a manner where it will take some certain amount of time. A good example are the plants and animals. They actually do need some time to grow and reproduce. This is probably why God had also started redesigning earth from the scratch.

Moreover, there is no such thing as a time gap that occured between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. God’s creation of the world from the very beginning was continuous without any interruptions. One of the main reasons why the Holy Scriptures have to describe God’s detailed creation of everything is to demonstrate His Power which makes Him worthy of being served as our only One and True Almighty God.

7 Days of God’s Creation of the Universe

God’s creation of the universe was entirely discussed in the Holy Bible, particularly in the Book of Genesis. His creations start right exactly in the very first verse of the Holy Scripture.

First Day

The first day of God’s creation of the world can be read in Genesis 1:1-5.

Clearly described here in Genesis 1:1-5, God’s first creations are the foundations of all His creations which is the universe. It was then followed by the creation of the formless and desolate earth.

Next to the unfinished earth was the separation of the “light” from “darkness”. After separating them, God named the light as the “day” and “night” for the state of darkness. All these things were God’s creations during the first day.

Second Day

Moving to the second day of God’s creation can be read in Genesis 1:6-7.

As mentioned in this Holy Scripture, God created the “dome” which is currently a very controversial topic being discussed by most scholars today. Anyway, we will cover this on a separate post.

God named this dome as “sky” where its main purpose is to keep the water separated into two places, one above it while the other below it. This completed God’s second day of creation.

Third Day

The third day of God’s creation can be read on Genesis 1:9-13.

In this third day of God’s continued creation of the world, He designed the water from the surface of the earth to give space for the lands. Thus, the lands had appeared where He named it as the “Earth” while “Sea” for the water.

After causing the land to appear, God created all plants that produce edible fruits and grains. If you come to think about it, God already had the intention to create mankind on this third day. It was because, who else will benefit from eating these foods?

Fourth Day

As we proceed, we are now on the fourth day of God’s creation which can be read on Genesis 1:14-19.

God’s fourth day of creation are the objects from the sky which are the sun, moon, and the stars. Among these three, the sun brings the brightest form of light so God had assigned it as the ruler of the day. Second to the sun is the moon in which God had assigned it as the ruler of the night.

Since God clearly made the separation between the day and the night, God had intended it as the main basis for counting time, days, years, and marking all celebrations of religious festivals.

Fifth Day

Moving into the next day is the fifth day which can be read on Genesis 1:20-23.

The fifth day was the day when God created the very first living beings or creatures to roam around the earth. And, they were the birds. Followed by the birds were sea dwelling creatures. After creating them, God had important instructions to them which was to reproduce or increase their numbers.

Sixth Day

On this sixth day, we can read God’s creation described in Genesis 1:24-31.

Sixth day was another day when God created the beings that dwell on the land. He first created the animals and then followed by the human beings.

When it comes to human beings, God created them (of course us) to have resemblance with Himself. So He created made and then followed by female. And just like the others, God had blessed and instructed them to have many children who will populate the entire earth.

Seventh Day

Finally, the seventh day marks the completion of God’s creation of the universe which can be read in Genesis 2:2-4.

Actually, God had already completed his creations on the sixth day so on this seventh day, He rested. Other than this, He blessed this seventh day and made it a “special day”. God made it a special Holy day for us to serve Him as our Almighty God or Creator.

How Long are the Days in Mentioned in Genesis 1

Today, we commonly refer to one single day as a composition of a 24 hours period of time. Due to this reason, many are so curious if the days mentioned in the Book of Genesis were also equivalent to a 24 hours time period for each day.

If we are going to read Genesis 1:5, we can find in this Scripture about what composes a day.

Genesis 1:3-5

As mentioned in Genesis 1:3, God created the light to bring brightness into the world particularly onto the surface of the earth. But aside from the brightness offered by the light, it also serves as the basis for time or counting the number of days.

This Holy Scripture stated that the very first day which was during God's creation was composed of an “evening that passed” until the “morning came”. Based on my own common understanding, it does sound like a 24 hours period.

The same description about the second day is mentioned in Genesis 1:8 of the Holy Bible.

Genesis 1:8

Similar to the first day, the second day of God’s creation was also composed of an evening that passed up until the next morning. It also goes the same with the other succeeding days which were the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth days of God’s continued creations.

Literally, the “passing of an evening until the next morning” is what’s composed of a single day. But when it comes to many number of days, the Scripture also used the term “many evenings and mornings”. We can read the example in the Book of Daniel 8:26.

Daniel 8:26

Above all, the most important Scripture from the Holy Bible regarding the days can be read in the Book of Exodus 20:9-11.

Exodus 20:9-11

Clearly explained by God, He wanted us to follow His daily routine when He worked or created everything that exists in this world. He wanted us to spend our regular days during the six days period. While on the seventh day, we need to take a rest because this day is blessed by God as the Sabbath day or Holy day for us to worship Him.

Moreover, my own personal opinion regarding the 24 hour period of time which is composed of a day has something to do with innovation or increase of knowledge by man. During the ancient days, the prophets or Moses who had written the Holy Scriptures knew nothing about accurate measurement of time. They solely rely on the sunrise and sunset as a basis for counting the number of days. Thus, this is probably the reason why they could not use a 24 hours time period as a description for one single entire day.

Wiseman Hypothesis or Tablet Theory Regarding the Book of Genesis

Many have their own doubts about the Book of Genesis on how it got preserved and passed down from one generation to the next generations. So in this post, we are going to cover one interesting theory about this topic which is known as the “Wiseman Hypothesis” or more commonly known as the “Tablet Theory”.

The person behind this theory is a British scholar, Percy Wiseman. Hence, he named his theory after his last name.

The main reason why some individuals prefer to call Wiseman’s theory as the tablet theory is because his theory suggests that the Scriptures of Genesis were originally written or engraved on clay tablets. Thus, the Scriptures in these clay tablets got passed down starting from the very first generations of man which was Adam. Then followed by Noah, Shem, Isaac, Jacod, and finally Moses who compiled them.

Before Noah's flood, the theory claims that these ancient tablets were carefully passed down into the care of several generations until Noah’s time. Before the flood was about to occur, Noah took these clay tablets and safely kept them inside his ark. Thus, the clay tablets never stopped from being passed down to the next generations.

When Moses finally got the clay tablets in his hands, he compiled them and even used them as reference materials. We can read the references in the Book of Genesis from the words that composed of “these are the generations of.”

There are a total of 10 generations where these words were used which you can check in your own Holy Bible.

The Generations Of

By studying it closely, Adam was the very first man who could probably recorded the second tablet. The theory suggests that he may even have done the first as well. Then, the next generations who held the clay tablets were again Noah, Shem, Terah, Ishmael, Isaac, Esau, Jacob, and down to Moses.

The clay tablet theory is indeed quite interesting. However, the problem is that there is not enough evidence to support its existence. The Holy Bible actually does not contain any of its Scriptures that these objects did exist in the past. Nor, any archaeological evidence that got uncovered or discovered. It is simply a mere hypothesis which is considered as one among the many possibilities of explaining the event.

If you are going to think more about it, the tablet is not actually necessary for the Holy Scriptures to be passed down from the earliest generations to the next. It’s because God can always use his divine powers, particularly the Holy Ghost to directly communicate to Moses which guided him in documenting the Book of Genesis. We can actually read this as described in Book 2 of Peter 1:21.

Peter 1:21

The Scripture states that no “human will” or personal thoughts of man were introduced into the Holy Bible. It is clearly stated that God had chosen someone or the right person to deliver His message to the world. And, they were able to fulfill it through the help of the Holy Spirit of God. Thus, this had rendered the ancient clay tablets useless or not necessary.

Moreover, what’s really important is that God’s Words were accurately preserved and recorded up to this current or present period of time for us to read. And His Words are now commonly compiled into one Book which we call as the “Holy Bible”.

Genesis 1 Describes the Creation of the World

One of the most popular verses written in the Holy Scripture was the very first verse of the Book itself which is Genesis 1:1 and here it is,

In the Beginning

The very first few words already describe the “beginning” which is the time when God had started His creations. At this point of time, only God Himself existed until He had finally decided to create everything.

However, the Holy Bible did not provide any accurate time or date when God started His creations. Rather, the content of the Holy Scripture is more focused about the details on how God set up everything from the very beginning.

In this very beginning period of time, God’s very first creation were the “heavens” and the “earth”. In some translations, both the heavens and the earth are referred to as the “universe”. But at this point of time, the earth was yet to be designed which was simply formless and desolate. Thus, God had set up the main foundations of the rest of His creations.

God the Creator

By reading the Book of Genesis, God has been described as “all-knowing” and “all-powerful” God Who was the Almighty One Who created everything from this World. God as the Creator is more clearly described by reading the Book of Jeremiah 10:16.

Aside from the Book of Jeremiah, another Scripture of the Bible that tells about God as the Maker of all things can be found in the Book of Isaiah 44:24.

By understanding this written Scripture, God as the Creator of everything proves that He is the only One true God Who is worthy of being served. It’s because He is the only One Who can be our savior.

When God created everything, He literally did it all by Himself and no one helped Him. Thus, creating everything was a complete demonstration of God’s true Power.

Upon knowing that God had created everything alone, many individuals are asking about “Who created God?”

The answer can be found in the Book of Psalm 90:2.

God did create everything but with the exemption of Himself. You have to know that God is “eternal” which means that “He has no beginning nor an end”. Thus, God is not affected by time.

Creation Out of Nothing

God is the only Creator who creates without the need of some sort of materials or preparations. He already demonstrated in Genesis 1 that He has the capability to create things out of nothing. What He simply does is to give His commands and it will be done.

We can read in the Book of Hebrews 11:3 about God Who created the entire universe by using His Word alone.

Perhaps, the only creation where God used a material was when He created Adam, the very first man. When God created Adam, He used “dust of the earth” which He previously created. We can read the complete details on how God created Adam in the Book of Genesis 2:7.

Aside from Adam was Eve, the very first woman. When God created her, God took one of Adam’s ribs as a material to create Eve. We can read the complete details in the Book of Genesis 2:21-22.

Lord Jesus Christ - the Word of God

It is actually very surprising to know that Lord Jesus Christ is also known as the “Word of God”. He has been described in the Book of John 1:1-4.

It has been clearly explained that Lord Jesus Christ was with God in the very beginning. This is because Lord Jesus Christ is God Himself and the Creator of everything. I would like to emphasize this part of the Scripture, “the Word was with God, and the Word was God”.

Therefore, without Lord Jesus Christ then the creation of everything would never happen.

The Earth was Formless and Desolate

Before we start, let’s first go over Genesis 1:1 to 2;

1 In the beginning, when God created the universe, 2 the earth was formless and desolate. The raging ocean that covered everything was engulfed in total darkness, and the Spirit of God was moving over the water.

Genesis 1:1 has already been discussed in this post. So if you have not read it yet, then you it’s best that you should read it first before you continue reading this one.

The earth was formless and desolate

When the time that God had created earth came out into its existence, it was totally formless or it was not yet designed. Perhaps you can imagine it in a way where earth was randomly scattered around on its place. So at this moment, the place was yet uninhabitable.

The raging ocean covered everything

Apart from being formless and desolate, earth was covered with water where its surface behaved similarly to a raging ocean.

Engulfed in total darkness

Light was not yet fixed by God so earth was totally engulfed with complete darkness.

Spirit of God was moving over the water

As God started His creation of heaven and earth, His Spirit was moving over the water. Could it possibly be that His Spirit acted as His own hands in reshaping and designing His entire creations? If you want to share your own thoughts then feel free to Comment it down below.

Genesis 1:1 Simple Explanation

In the previous post, we have already covered and explained Genesis 1:1. However, many are still getting confused with my explanation. So on this post, I wrote a much simpler explanation that anyone could easily understand.

So let’s start with the Bible’s Genesis 1:1 below;

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

In the beginning

The beginning that is being referred here on Genesis 1:1 was the “start of everything” but with the exception of God. You have to know that God Has no beginning where He was the only one that exists in the very beginning composed of a world with complete emptiness. Until, He had finally decided to start creating everything.

God

God is the one Who has created everything out of nothing. Thus, He is also known as the “Creator”. With such kind of amazing power, He is the One and Only true Almighty God worthy of being served. In Hebrew, God is also referred to as “Elohim”.

Creation

Our Almighty God or Elohim had demonstrated His power through His creations and that includes you.

The Heaven and the Earth

In this exact verse of Genesis, God had created heaven and earth but they were yet to be redesigned or arranged by God. He simply prepared the platform or foundation in order to begin his wonderful creations.

The Beginning and Creation of the Universe – Genesis 1:1

Stated on Genesis 1:1 is, “In the beginning, when God created the universe,”

What does it mean?

If you are going to study it closely, there are two concepts behind it. The first one is the word, “beginning” while the second is “God who created the universe”.

So let’s first tackle the part about “In the beginning”. This means the beginning of everything but with the exception of God who is the Creator Himself. Yes, it is actually a common question that is being asked by many individuals about who created God. The answer to this question can be found on Psalm 90:2 where it says;

“Before you created the hills or brought the world into being, you were eternally God, and will be God forever.”

The keyword here is the part that state, “you were eternally God”. This means that God the Creator of everything is “eternal” which means that He “does not have a beginning or an end”.

Now, let’s go to the part about “when God created the universe”. This was the part when God cause everything to suddenly exist out from nothing. Only a power of a true God can perform such kind of marvelous and unparalleled creation. Another mention from the Bible about God as the Creator of all things can be found on Jeremiah 10:16 where it says;

“The God of Jacob is not like them; He is the one who made everything, and He has chosen Israel to be His very own people. The Lord Almighty is His name.”

On this Scripture, I would like to emphasize the part where it says “He is the one who made everything” and “The Lord Almighty is His name.” Again, this is another clear description from the Holy Bible stating that the Lord Almighty God is the Creator of everything.

Going back to Genesis 1:1; when God had created the universe, this was the start or beginning of everything for His creations. Thus, only God’s creation which is the universe has a beginning but not Him. When he created the universe, He created everything through His words. Let’s read Hebrews 11:3;

“It is by faith that we understand that the universe was created by God’s word, so that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen.”

I need you to pay close attention to the part that says; “what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen.” What does it mean? It means that God’s word is the part that cannot be seen. It then transformed into physical existence which became the composition of the entire universe.

Again, let’s go back to Genesis 1:1. When God created the universe at this particular point of time, everything was not yet completely done. He still needs to do some redesigning such as moving celestial objects to their proper places, Earth’s vegetation, creation of man and animals, and etc… We will cover more about these topics on the next succeeding posts.

What it means when God said “Let there be Light”?

Can you just imagine the world we live today without light? Everybody would be living a life of being blind that we can’t do so much for ourselves.

The existence of light is very important for us which allows us to grow and harvest our food to eat. Yes, other living things especially plants do need light to survive. So without plants, it will be impossible for us to live on this world.

On the Bible’s Old Testament, the word “light” was first mentioned on Genesis 1 verse 3.

Genesis 1:3

Some individuals interpret what God said about “Let there be light” as a form of metaphor. This means, it has a deeper meaning. The reason why is because of the very first verse Genesis 1:1 which stated that God created the universe.

Genesis 1:1

When God created the universe, everything had already came into existence including light. The rest was more about redesigning it particularly earth.

On the other hand, some individuals do have an understanding that light only began to exist on Genesis 1:3 when God commanded it.

If you are going to read the succeeding Holy Scriptures about God’s creation of the world, God had commanded all things to come into their rightful places.

Now, when it comes to my own understanding. Both interpretations are correct.

When God created the universe, it means that He already created everything. This means that physical form of light may already exist somewhere else in the universe. However, earth remains undeveloped at that time which is described on Genesis 1:2. So at this point, God started renovating earth for us human to live.

God commanding the light to appear on Genesis 1:3 was God’s creation of light specifically for earth.

Metaphorical Meaning of Light

The Holy Bible mentions more about light but with metaphorical meaning.

One of the best Scripture that I like most is John 8:12 where Jesus said that he is the “light of the world”.

John 8:12

This Scripture is actually so easy to interpret where Jesus was speaking in metaphor and not the physical form of light. We will discussing more about the meaning of this Scripture on another separate post.

Another Scripture found on the Holy Bible about light which has connection between God and Jesus Christ can be read at 1 Corinthians 4:6.

1 Corinthians 4:6

On this Scripture, God’s creation of light from the very beginning is mentioned. And as a Christian, He is the same God who made his light shine into our hearts which means that we are able to understand and interpret His glory through the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Conclusion

Physical Light

In the Old Testament, when God spoke of the words “Let there be light”, it was a form of creation where physical form of light appeared.

But in the New Testament, light is more often used as a metaphor especially when light is referred to Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ being the light of the world means that he brought enlightenment to this world. So anyone who follows his teachings will never be lead astray and get salvation with eternal life. In short, light can be interpreted as the truth or guidance towards our salvation.

Why is Earth the only Planet Not Named after a Roman god?

By the time that we start going to school as a kid, one among the major subjects being thought is science. This is the subject that we importantly need to educate ourselves because it does really help knowing them.

Although, there are some aspects of science that often left us with some curious questions such as why did they named the planets in our solar system after the Roman gods and goddesses except earth?

Let’s name them all except those that are just recently discovered:

1. Mercury
2. Mars
3. Venus
4. Saturn
5. Neptune
6. Uranus
7. Jupiter

According to my research, people from the ancient period of time named these planets after their Roman gods and goddesses.

Solar System Planets

It has been theorized that all of these seven planets were probably clearly visible to the naked eyes of the people in the past. This was the closest speculation for them to know the existence of the planets unless they were actually technologically advance that we never thought about.

But at this time, they do not consider earth as a planet yet. It is probably the reason why they never changed its name.

Many years later passed particularly at the 17th century, humans had concluded that earth was also a planet.

Did the Bible Originally Named the Planets?

God never gave any names to those planets in our solar system except for the two of earths’ main light sources which is the Sun and the Moon. He even never referred to them as planets but “stars” and there are no further description about them that can be found on the Bible.

Try to read Genesis 1 verse 16.

Genesis 1:16

The creation of the planets which are stars takes us back when God created “lights from the sky”. Thus, their sole purpose is to emit light from the sky which can only be observed during the night.

In my own opinion, the stars or planets aren’t really much important for us to know about. If it happens that they can be inhabited by us humans, it isn’t really necessary for us to go and live into those planets because we already have everything we need here on earth.

But, I highly doubt if there are any planets out there that are pretty much the same as earth. It’s because according to the Bible, earth was the only place designed by God for mankind to live and prosper.

Is Earth really a Planet?

In the field of science, earth is 100 percent a planet. But in the Holy Bible, I couldn’t find any on its Scripture that it is considered as one among the stars in space or universe. Thus, it is not a planet or star.

Earth isn’t even the name of this world that we live in. God simply referred to earth as the “land or ground” areas of this world.

Read Genesis 1 verse 10.

Genesis 1:10

In my own personal opinion, I totally agree that it is best to call it earth rather than by any other name because God repeatedly mentioned it several times. Everything He made were for the benefit of the earth making it completely habitable for us to thrive.

Why did they name the Planets after Roman Gods?

With so many interesting names that one could come up to name the planets in our solar system, why did they choose to name them after the Roman gods and goddesses?

The answer to this question will take us back since the ancient period of time. Most people of the ancient world actually viewed that beyond the sky was the heaven. So for this reason, every objects that they discovered or sighted from space was that, they considered them as their gods and goddesses.

Every cultures around the world do have different names for the planets. But there is one thing in common, they name them after the gods that they worship.

You may even be surprised to know that the ancient Egyptians worship the sun as their god. Another interesting fact is the occurrence of the “solar or lunar eclipse”. Many people in the past believed that this rare event means that their god was angry where they immediately need to pray and ask for their forgiveness.

The earliest record on our history that named the planets according to their gods were the “Babylonians”. They had given names such as Nabu, Ishtar, Ninerta, Nergal and Marduk.

When the Greeks came next into power, they replaced it into their own deities names where they called them Hermes, Aphrodite, Ares Zeus and Cronos.

Next to the Greeks were the Romans in which they renamed the planets into their own and it is what the West have adopted and use until today.

Some of you may ask about the dwarf planet called, “Pluto” which was discovered back in 1930. This means that ancients didn’t originally named it but the scientists at the time of its discovery named it after the Greek god of the underworld.

Conclusion

Since we now know that the only reason why the ancient people named the planets according to their gods was due to their lack of knowledge about them. Isn’t it a good idea to rename them again to a much better and suitable ones?

Planet mars being now called by many as the “Red Planet” is one good example.

Scientists should come up with better names for these planets that provide some interesting and useful information about them. It’s because calling them by their Roman god names which is currently being thought at school just makes no sense to a kid.

Analysis about the Separation of Light from Darkness

On the first day of God’s creation of the entire universe, the world is nothing but complete darkness. So on His command, He created light. Then, He separated the light from darkness so that the light will be referred as “Day” and the darkness as the “Night”.

If you want to get a view of what’s total darkness look like, just go to a dark room and then close your eyes. That is complete total darkness where you won’t be able to see even a tiny small shiny spot.

The complete Scripture from the Holy Bible can be read at 1st Genesis verses 1 to 5.

With darkness, there is no beauty which is connected to creation that can be seen around the reason why God commanded for the light to appear.

The question here is that, can light co-exist with darkness?

The answer is “no”. So when God created light, it overlapped darkness where everything were clearly visible. Perhaps this was the reason why God was pleased by what he saw as mentioned on 1 Genesis verse 4.

Since darkness was completely replaced by light, God thought of giving it a place so He decided to separate the light from darkness. And, this was the end of the first day of God’s creation of the universe.

Based on my understanding, God must had placed the light on the west side of the universe while the darkness remains on the east side. They were constantly on that position. So if you are going to travel to the west, then you are at the “Day Side” while “Night Side” on the opposite.

The Creation of the Sun, Moon and Stars

A conflicting verses about God’s first creation about the light is at 1st Genesis verses 14 to 19. These verses describes how God created the sun, moon and, stars that gives light down to earth.

My understanding to these verses is that, God made some necessary adjustments and improvements. Originally, the light He first created had no source or sources. It was just completely light that shines out from nowhere. So on 1 Genesis verse 14, God placed this light at a better position which is on the sky.

He did it in a manner as describe on 1 Genesis verse 16, God created the sources of lights which are the sun that gives light during the day and the moon and stars at night.

As you are going to continue reading 1 Genesis verse 17 to 18, God positioned all the light sources he made up into the sky which brings light down to earth. They are the rulers of the day and night where they have a very important function of “separating light from darkness”.

Conclusion

God’s creation of the light and separating it from darkness isn’t just for us to see the world with our eyes. It also has an important role to “time” which allows us to know the number of days, years and when to celebrate special events particularly, religious festivals.

The Dome Mentioned on 1st Genesis 6 to 7

Are you a conspiracist? If yes then, you will surely enjoy this topic because we are going to discuss about the mysterious dome from the sky that prevents anyone from exploring the outer space.

I know that such knowledge is against what you have learned in school particularly in your science subject. This is about man being able to break their way out from the outer space and landed on the moon.

Today, there are already some reports where astronauts are planning on sending a manned-mission to the red planet known as “Mars”.

But, if you are going to ask me then, “no one has ever broke out from the dome” and it is impossible to explore the outer space.

Let’s carefully read 1st Genesis of the verse 6 to 7.

The Dome Divides the Water in Two Separate Places

On the 1st Genesis of the verse 6 to 7, the Holy Bible clearly stated that God created a dome (the other common term is also known as “firmament”). The main purpose of this dome or firmament is to separate water into two different places.

My own understanding to this is that, the entire world was first actually filled with water. Literally, a world with water except for the “light” that God first created mentioned on 1st Genesis verse 3.

So God’s next creation was a division which is the dome or firmament as already stated above. This division had created a separation somewhere in between this entire body of water which opened a space. God called this space as the “sky”.

Now, I want you to pay more attention into this part of the Holy Scripture where it stated, “water under it from the water above it”.

It is so very clear that due to the dome that God had created, there are now water from above the firmament and below it.

The separation of the water and the creation of the dome was all created by God on the second day.

Why God did not just completely removed the Water Above?

It would really be nice to know if the outer space is indeed a vast empty space that is not filled with water. Through our advance human technology, we can actually send brave astronauts out there for exploration.

But, I highly doubt if we could find any place out there that are perfectly suitable for human habitations.

Anyway, Earth is actually a very large place that can accommodate all of us. I don’t believe any of those nonsense information that our population is so overwhelming that sometime in the future, there is not enough room for everyone.

If we are going to look into the Holy Scripture found on 1st Genesis verse 28. God blessed both the first male and female that He created to bear many children. And, their descendants will also populate all over the Earth.

That’s it. Our Creator never mentioned any limitations such as when to stop. Thus, this gives me the conclusion that Earth offers more than enough room for each of us to have their own rightful place to live.

Going back about the water above the dome, this actually prevented any space exploration. Exploring space is probably the same thing as exploring the underwater found here on the land.

Did you know that we can’t still explore the deepest portion of the sea? And, why?

The answer is, “pressure”. If a submarine would go quite deep under the water then, the pressure will crush it like a tin can.

Therefore, astronauts can’t also go any further away from the firmament provided that the pressure is above. But if the pressure is below then, it is quite impossible to even penetrate the outer surface of the dome.

Conclusion

God made everything with a purpose. The dome and the water found above and below clearly prevents us from going any further from Earth. It’s because Earth is the only perfect living place for us to thrive designed by God. In short, there is no post of going out there.

I read on some sources that the funding made into those space exploration and their high-tech equipment are composed of insane amount of money.

Why not just use that money to make Earth a much better living place for all of us instead of looking for another place somewhere from afar with very little chance of being able to find one.

Why God Referred to Himself in Genesis as We?

At the written Scripture found in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible Genesis, there is a very controversial issue about God addressing Himself as "We" or "Us". This means that God is referring to a certain unknown Entity or Entities who is/are already along with Him since the creation of man.

Who is this unknown Entity or Entities that God had spoken to in Genesis?

Is this Entity His Son Jesus Christ?

Or, Are they the angels?

Creation of Man

The plurality of God is first mentioned exactly on Genesis 1:26.

Genesis 1:26

Starting from the very beginning of Genesis 1:1-25, the Scripture clearly indicate that there is only one God who created the entire world until to the part of the creation of man. He suddenly referred to Himself as "We" and "Us" by saying that, "And now we will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble us."

This gives the impression that God needed some help or assistance to His fellow Companions to create mankind.

The First Sin

Another plurality of God is mentioned again in Genesis 3:22.

Genesis 3:22

Adam and Eve had committed the very first sin against God through their disobedience where they had eaten the forbidden fruit from the "tree that gives knowledge of what is good and bad". Because of that, God said that man "has become like one of us".

God mentioned again the word "Us" referring to "Them" and not "He" alone. So to whom is He really talking?

The Tower of Babylon

When the first people of the world built the tower of Babylon, they only have one type of language that they used. So God had decided to introduce different form of languages so that they won't be able to understand one another. This Scripture is written at Genesis 11:7.

Genesis 11:7

In relation to the plurality of God, the word "Us" is used again on this Scripture. Who is along with Him who helped mixed up the language of these first people?

God Appeared to Abraham

When God appeared to Abraham, Genesis 18:1-3 describes the Lord as "three men".

Genesis 18:1-3

It is very conflicting why on Genesis 18:1 states that, "The Lord appeared to Abraham..." which is a singular form. But then, on Genesis 18:2, Abraham saw three men which is a plural form. And as you continue to read on Genesis 18:3, Abraham confirmed that there is more than one of them by addressing the Lord as "Sirs".

Possible Explanations of God as a Plural Being

"Elohim" is actually one of the primary titles of God in the Old Testament. According to some sources, this title has been used over 2,500 times from the original manuscript. In fact, the original title used in Genesis 1:1 is Elohim.

Genesis 1:1

As an English translation, Elohim was replaced with the title "God" which clearly states that the creator is Singular. But, did you know that Elohim is a plural noun in the Hebrew language? So the correct translation should be "Gods". If it's singular then the word "El" should have been used but it's not.

However, if there are several Gods then this will create a major conflict from the Scripture written at Isaiah 44:6.

Isaiah 44:6

Our Almighty Lord God has declared that He is the first, the last and only God that exists. As a follow up, God made another interesting statement at Isaiah 44:8 about other gods.

Isaiah 44:7

At Isaiah 44:8, God had asked the people of Israel of any other powerful gods that He never heard about. This is another solid proof from the Scripture that He alone is the powerful God who is the Creator of everything.

Although, it is still very quite intriguing why the title of our Creator have been used grammatically wrong throughout the Bible. Is it really just an error? If it's not then why did the Holy Spirit choose the word "Elohim" which is a plural term as the preferred title of God?

1. God is Probably Referring to the Angels

Some people claims that God is referring to the angels when he spoke of the word "We" or "Us" particularly in the written Scripture of Genesis. The angels are probably His witnesses who have seen God's creation of the world from the very beginning. Thus, He sometimes use plural terms to refer to His actions.

But, the Bible never mention anything about angels capable of creating human life. There is also no written Scripture found on the Bible that angels are also made in the image of God. Or, man was made in the likeness of angels.

2. God is Probably Referring to Jesus Christ

Some sources claims that the first creation of God was Jesus Christ since he is the "first-born" Son stated at the Scripture at Colossians 1:15. Due to this reason, God was referring to Jesus Christ every time He uses the term "We" or "Us".

Colossians 1:15

Although, the term "first-born Son" seems to have a very deep meaning. It's pretty unclear if it really refers to Jesus Christ as God's very first creation.

As an additional support of this claim is the Scripture of Hebrews 1:3.

Hebrews 1:3

Hebrews 1:3 clearly states that Jesus Christ is the reflection of God's glory so as the exact copy of His own being. He also sustain the universe through his powerful word. And just after going through the trouble of saving mankind of our sins, God gave him the honor to sat at His right side.

If the Almighty God sits at the middle and Jesus Christ is at His right side then, there is probably another Being who sits at the left side. This makes them a total of three Powerful Beings referred at Genesis 18:1-2.

3. God, the Son and the Holy Spirit

God is about everything, the Creator of all things while the Son is referred as no other than Jesus Christ who saved mankind (us) from our sins. But, who is this third being known as the "Holy Spirit"?

The strongest point of the Holy Spirit as a third Entity can be read at Matthew 28:19.

Matthew 28:19

When Jesus ordered his eleven disciples to talk to people everywhere and make them his disciples, he added that these people will be baptized in the name of the "Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit". He said "in the name" which means that there are three different Beings because they have they own respective names. Father, God and our Creator already have His name revealed in the Bible. His Son goes by the name, "Jesus Christ". But, the name of the third Being remains a mystery.

Another Scripture in the Holy Bible with a strong point about the Holy Spirit can be read at John 14:26.

John 14:26

Jesus Christ refers to the Holy Spirit as "The Helper". This clearly indicates another powerful Entity. More description of the Holy Spirit is describe at John 14:16-17

John 14:16-17

Jesus Christ describes the Holy Spirit as a "Helper" and "Spirit". And, this Holy Spirit even have a gender which is a "he". Although, you cannot see him since he is a Spirit.

Overall, the closest possible conclusion is that God referred to Himself as "We" or "Us" (in plural forms) because of His Son and the Holy Spirit who were probably the once along with Him since the beginning of the world's creation.
